My Bio
I'm a wife, mother of three beautiful adult children. As of now I have three lovely granddaughters.
I have always been interested in drawing and painting. I've always done crafts in one form or another but my true love had always been drawing in pencil and ink until about two years ago I began dabbling in watercolors. I fell in love. I'm still learning and growing. As I'm learning I share that knowledge and love with my granddaughters. They are 3,5,7. The oldest is okay with it but the younger two really seem to love it.

I enjoy sharing my art with friends and family but I've always been timid about strangers seeing my work. With my husbands encouragement I've decided to join Deviantart.

Abstract Art

0 min read
I don't often write in my journal but I really wanted to share a few things with my fellow artists. Somehow I ended up discovering or rediscovering... abstract art. I browsed the galleries and found some amazing works there. I favorited a few and decided I'd give it a whirl and try my hand at it. Well let me tell you..... it is not as easy as I thought it was. You can have an idea of what you want but like any medium it takes time to develope a good working technique. I had a few happy accidents but I have a long way to go and many many pieces to go before I can call myself an abstract artists. I have enjoyed the heck out of this experience a

I pretty much got the time off from work so I made the call today and reserved my spot for the fair at the Animal Sanctuary. I'm excited about it. This will be my second time out with my art but the venue is different. Pricing the art is the hard part. I don't want to give my stuff away. I give art away all the time but I do want to make a bit of money. Pricing too high will still keep me from making any money. How do you know what's the right price? All my art will be original pieces. I'm working on a few animal pieces to carry and some landscapes. I'll have at least 20 bookmarks to carry which sell very well. There is still so much to d

A Bit Nervous

0 min read
A bit nervous is probably sugar coating it. But I don't want to say that I'm scared silly or anything like that but that would be close. I have been invited to show and sell my art at a craft show in August. I want to do it but the fear factor is there. We all know what that is. What if I don't sell anything. Is my stuff good enough. Am I priced to high....... or am I priced to low..... I've always wanted to price my work where anyone could afford to buy it. I know that may not always be the best way to go. I have sold a few pieces to coworkers and friends so that's nothing new. I have been at another fair last year. I sold a few small piec
